Year 1 – Week 1

In week 1 I learnt how to create low poly items using a template on Dust3d Which is an open source software which is accessible to anyone. It is sometimes used in industries and uses circles to create an object. I also learnt how to use Monstermash which is a website used to create and animate objects and is not industry standard. and Finally I learnt how to create a shield in Blender by also using a template. I made several variants of the shield and applied different styles and colours but at the end I decided upon this design. The purple outline of the shield symbolises regality and the gold symbolises wealth. The pattern was made in relation to a Mayan style of a Jaguar. Blender is industry standard and has been used by Nvidia, apple and even Walt Disney studios.

During my independent learning on the Friday, I researched different styles I could use for my upcoming project of a dungeons and dragons styled game. I chose three different themes, A cyberpunk theme set in the near future; a space theme set centuries ahead of our time where space exploration has uncovered a civilisation of aggressive and highly dangerous creatures; and an apocalypse theme where the whole world has vanished and zombies are its replacement. WWW: I managed to create a basic shield in blender as well as creating 3 different mood-boards for my idea for Dungeons and Dragons. EBI: If i included my progress into the blog and I took more screenshots and uploaded them to Onedrive.
